NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION DONATED FOOD MATERIALS TO LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ON ACCOUNT OF COVID-19

Corporate Social Responsibility

The reality of COVID-19 is undeniable. The Nigerian Baptist Convention gave FOOD ITEMS to support the Lagos State Government in the alleviation of the Lockdown being experienced by the citizens. This support is a welcome Corporate Social Responsibility as a denomination.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) who is also the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), the Rev. Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle holds his Excellence, Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu in high esteem, and commend his governance of Lagos State where it is evident that he is consistently adding values through his THEMES agenda.

The National Director of the Social Ministry Department of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr Mrs Titi Eniola represented Rev. Dr Samson Olasupo Ayokunle at the occasion.
She presented the items to the Special Adviser on Agriculture Ms Ruth Bisola Olusanya who currently head the COVID-19 Relief Material Distribution gave words of appreciation on behalf of Mr Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. She remarked that the One Thousand tubers of yam can serve as a meal to one thousand families if each family is not more than five. She appreciated the Nigerian Baptist Convention for Bags of Gari, 300 Cartoons of Indomine Noddles and indeed the show of love beyond religious divide

The event took place at  Ikeja today Thursday 16th April 2020. In attendance are- Honorable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi; Special Adviser on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev Bukola Adeleke, and Dr Olayiwole ONASANYA,-Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Lagos State. Also present are the Conference Presidents of Lagos State Baptist Conferences, Rev. Dr Kehinde Babarinde (Central); Rev. Dr Julius Omomola (East); Rev. Dr Samuel Oladiran (West).
This is truly a fulfilment of the biblical injunction "For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me... Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."(Matthew 25:35-36,40 KJV)
